D-CELL - vertical movement Matters

Since showing off our latest D-CELL unit with a lock-out feature on the vertical slide, we've had a few queries about why it's an integral part of our chassis systems. The answer is quite simple.
For any rifle shooting discipline, whether it's hunting or competition, getting a good shoulder weld is a critical cornerstone of accuracy - not just for recoil management, but also for a repeatable and comfortable cheek weld. Now consider the relative position of the shoulder height (recoil pad placement) to the sight plane (cheek weld). As we move from a standing position, to a prone position, the distance between our shoulder and head reduces, quite substantially - circa 50mm (2"):

Without having the ability to slide the recoil pad up and down into the sweet spot of the shoulder, the shooter is forced to make a compromise in their frame, inevitably leading to a series of issues with position, comfort and accuracy.
Think a solid, fixed buttstock will do? Think again.
